Rob Leonard

_... is the host of Beatlesongs, the only live radio show in the Long Island/New York area dedicated to the music and history of the Beatles. This unique show airs every Friday from 8pm to 11pm on 90.3 WHPC-FM, a popular Long Island-based station that serves as ‘the radio voice of Nassau Community College’, broadcasting to Long Island and the surrounding New York area.
The show has been on the air for a total of over 16 years as of 2009
(January 1984 to January 1987 and from April 1996 to the present)!
On Beatlesongs, Rob Leonard plays the music the Beatles recorded together and individually as solo artists. He also plays covers of songs written by the Beatles, as well as original versions of songs that the Beatles covered, giving him a wealth of amazing music to draw from. Along the way, Rob offers up both news and opinions about the Beatles. Unlike other Beatle radio shows around the country, he is able to play … and enjoys playing ... lots of solo Beatle material.
Rob’s other show, The Free for All, has been on the air on WHPC-FM for a total of 14 years as of 2009 (1984 -1987 and 1998 - present). The Free for All is a free-form mix of rock and roll music from every decade, and Rob delights in spinning tracks by everyone from Chuck Berry to Weezer.
For the past few years, Rob’s yearly Beatlesongs anniversary show has featured the members of what has been dubbed 'The Beatles Rat Pack’. That group includes Rob, Ken, Mitch and Tony … the current hosts of Fab Fourum … along with singer/songwriter (and Beatles collector) Rob Koenig, and fellow fans/collectors Denis Johnston and Joe Fernandez. That annual show helped in the genesis of Fab Fourum.
