We are three members of the FIRST all-talk Beatles podcast!
For a full week in February of 1972, the seemingly improbable happened. A very popular daytime talk/variety television program, The Mike Douglas Show, had John Lennon and Yoko Ono as its guest co-hosts. As popular as it was, The Mike Douglas Show was considered to be pretty “vanilla “ and was not known for promoting anything near controversial. The show was the last place the world thought that they would see the likes of John and Yoko espousing their beliefs, let alone activists Jerry Rubin and Bobby Seale. But for this auspicious event, John and Yoko had an agenda to further “the movement". What TV viewers actually saw was a week of song, fun and education, the likes of which had never been seen on daytime talk shows, and may never be seen again. In this episode, the Fab 4 Free 4 All reviews the documentary Daytime Revolution which transports its audience back to that week in February 1972. People involved with this historic week provide the context to allow the modern viewer to fully understand what was happening during those turbulent times, and, consequently why these five episodes of daytime TV were much more important than we may have realized at the time.

And what, exactly, do we talk about?
No topics … and no opinions … are off limits. We tell it like it is, with an eye toward offering up accurate, and sometimes unique, facts, information, and anecdotes. And since the show is hosted by three longtime friends with VERY individual likes, dislike and perspectives, there is always respectful … but humorous … conversation and debate in every episode.
Fab4Free4All is available as a podcast for download directly from this site, and it can also be found on iTunes, Spotify, and on the sites of many other podcast aggregators. The show is hosted by three Beatles experts – radio veterans, authors, and lecturers – who have each done substantial research and reporting on the world’s most famous rock band. Each has spent years either writing about, lecturing on, or broadcasting the music of the Beatles (or doing some combination of all of those things!). They first joined forces in 2009 as members of The Fab Fourum. (Episodes of that show can be heard on the archive page on this site, and can be downloaded from Archive.org.) Changes and 'tweaks' in that highly successful show led to the exciting adventure that is Fab4Free4All.
The Fab4Free4All crew - Mitch Axelrod, Rob Leonard, Tony Traguardo - focuses on topics that span the Beatles’ group and solo careers. Think of any song or album - any aspect of the Beatles as a group, solo artists, musicians, songwriters, or any part of their history - and it's all here, or bound to be featured in a show some time down the road.
We are humbly grateful for our incredible fan base, and for the positive reviews and reputation that we have earned in the world of Beatles/music-related journalism among our listeners, our peers, and our friends at Apple Corps. and Universal Music.
